Our Animal Family

POPEYE (aka "Pey")

Co-founder

Popeye is the heart, life, and soul of our animal family. Popeye was rescued 3 days from death as a puppy who was dumped on the side of a road due to skin problems and severely deformed crooked legs. He spent the first 3-years of his life looking for me all over the country, when he finally found me, it was instant recognition. Popeye and I have had a past life together before this, he was my dog in a previous life where I had died before him, and he vowed to find me again as a dog and he did. Popeye is also a mini-celebrity in our little bustling surf-town. He earned his fame during covid when he rode on a bike with me all over the place in a backpack and instantly became TikTok famous overnight. Asides from his job as a mini-celebrity, Popeye spends a lot of time in the kitchen taste-testing any new recipes I might have as well as assisting me with the rescues of all the animals that come through our home on a weekly basis. From a street dog to my right-handed little man, Popeye is now the leader of our animal family and takes delicate care with all the injured and baby animals that come to our rescue. I would not be able to do this without him at my side, he is more than just a good-looking cute little zaguate, he is the heart, life and soul of our animal pack.

DAFFY
Co-founder & Inspiration
Daffy is the inspiration for the entire existence of our Instagram account which led to this blog. Daffy was rescued out of our pool one late afternoon which took 3 humans to get him out of the pool even as a few days old duckling. Daffy is not a real duck. He was born out of thin air, made of stardust and love. Daffy came to us in the body of a duck, he is actually an orb of light, a friend of mine, that came to help me through one of the toughest times of my human life. Daffy's body is that of a Whistling Black Bellied duck, and these little babies are not easy to raise, as they die very easily away from their parents. Daffy bravely survived the first week living with me and Popeye and quickly adapted to life with us - and in the 11 months he lived with us, he made the biggest of changes in that small little body and the changes continue to ripple through our life today affecting many other animals in a positive light. Daffy is, also, the founder and inspiration to the animal family we continue to grow everyday.
